Reine is a fishing village picturesquely located among the rocky mountains of the Lofoten archipelago in the north of Norway. The village inhabited by only 350 people but it is the commercial and administrative center of the Moskenes region. Reine is situated in the Arctic Circle and due to that the climate is cold and the natural conditions are difficult. Rocky soil and short growing season does not favor cultivation of plants and for that reason the economy of the village is based mostly on fishing. Nevertheless, the recent years have seen the growth of tourism. Despite the fact that the village is cold and small, it attracts more and more people who crave for closeness of the northern nature and are fascinated with the traditional culture of Scandinavia.
