Fishing village of Nusfjord in Lofoten (Norway) online puzzle
Nusfjord is one of the oldest and at the same time best-preserved fishing villages in Norway. It is located in the Lofoten Archipelago at the northern coast of Norway. All the buildings in the village come from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries. They were not devastated by fires or other natural disasters and the architectonic order of the village has not been spoiled by modern buildings, which creates the unique mood of that place. Nusfjord is often compared to the living open-air museum. Due to the fact that the village is protected as a precious monument of Norway’s cultural heritage, it is forbidden to interfere with its present form. For that reason, tourists may stay only in old fishermen’s cabins adapted to their needs as there are no large hotels. Thanks to such adaptations all visitors may have a closer look at peaceful life of that village.
