Round Tower at Windsor Castle (United Kingdom) online puzzle
The Round Tower is one of the 19 towers of the Windsor Royal Castle in England, erected in 14th century by king Edward III. The cylindric tower that is located in the heart of the castle on the 15-meter base is based on the earlier construction from the 12th century. In the 19th century the tower was heightened 9 meters by the architect Jeffrey Wyattville. The interior of the Round Tower was reconstructed in the 1990's in order to provide additional space for the Royal Archives that are located there. Some architects and archeologists - e.g. Tim Tatton-Brown - claim that heightening of the tower and its reconstruction caused that the present day appearance of the tower differs significantly from the medieval original.
