Torii gate on Miyajima Island (Japan) online puzzle
Torii are Japanese gates of characteristic shapes, leading to holy places and chrams. The torii construction is one of the most recognizable elements of Japanese architecture. Two vertical poles are its basis, they are connected at the top with two horizontal beams. In the Japanese culture the torri is a symbol of passing from the earthly, material life that finishes with death to the eternal world of gods. These gates are built in the places where gods are - in water, on coasts or in house gardens. The largest and the most beautiful torii is located on Miyajima Island. It is over 16m high.
