Village of Baška on the island of Krk (Croatia) online puzzle
In the south east of the Croatian island of Krk there is a village of Baška that was founded in 1100. Baška is similar to other Mediterranean towns in many ways – there are typical narrow streets, small stone buildings, numerous churches, tiny bars and taverns, sandy and stony beaches. Among the historic monuments of sacral architecture it is worth seeing the 18th-century parish church of the Holy Trinity, church of Saint John the Baptist, the 15th-century church of Our Lady and the oldest church of Saint Lucia in Jurandvor from the turn of the 11th and 12th centuries. In summer there are festival and cultural event in Baška, among them the Cultural Summer of Baška and lignjada, i.e. a meeting of hunters and a hunt that accompanies the event.
