Castiglione di Sicilia is a town located in the north-east of Sicily, in the Province of Catania. The town is situated near Mount Etna, the largest active volcano of Europe. Its closeness does not influence the touristic attractiveness of that place. Castiglione di Sicilia has been listed as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of Italy” (Italian: I Borghi più belli d'Italia), it is the association founded in order to protect small towns/villages that are precious in terms of cultural heritage.
