Karlovy Vary (Czech Republic) online puzzle
Karlovy Vary is a town located in the western part of Czech Republic, at the confluence of two rivers – the Ohře and Teplá. It is a spa town, surrounded by forests and mountain peaks. The local hot springs were noticed as early as in the 14th century, as they attracted numerous visitors to Karlovy Vary, mostly the representatives of gentry. Due to natural disasters and military conflicts the spa has been rebuilt again and again. The number of visitors has been constantly growing and for that reason the town’s landscape was enriched by new architectonic objects: villas, spring houses and baths, impressive colonnades. At the beginning of the 19th century Karlovy Vary began the production of herbal liqueur called Becherovka. The town’s industry was developing thanks to Moser glass manufacturer and the construction of railway improved communication. Today there is also the airport and Karlovy Vary is still visited by thousands of tourists and health resort visitors from Europe.
