Marble Canyon in Arizona forms an initial part of the Grand Canyon. The period of its creation is estimated at about 10 million years and this is why in the canyon’s section we may see the deposits of rocks from the Precambrian to the Mesozoic Era. The whole canyon is 349 km long and its entire area has been protected as a national park since 1919.
