Ara is the species of birds from the True Parrots family, inhabiting South America. Aras are characterized by a significant size, long tail, colorful feathers and a large hooked beak. The representatives of the two sexes do not differ from one another. Aras feed on fruit and nuts (they crash shells of nuts using their strong beaks and use tongues to get the content), they tame very easily and they coexist well with other parrots (however, they may be dangerous for other animals and unfamiliar people). Aras live up to 65 years. Many species of parrots belong to the Aras family, some of which are considered extinct. Some aras are able to imitate simple human sounds.
