Emerald Pools in Zion National Park (USA) online puzzle
Zion National Park is located in the state of Utah in the south-western United States. The name originated in the late 19th century, when the Mormons settled here. They were captivated by the beauty of the local nature and due to that they named the region Zion, the name that is often used as a synonym for Jerusalem. This area had been granted protection as early as in 1909 and ten years later the national park was established here. The area is very picturesque - the landscape is dominated by high red sandstone formations, which beautifully contrast with the greenery of vegetation and local waters. There are numerous cliffs, gorges and waterfalls, however, the Zion Canyon is among the biggest attractions. It is no wonder that the first explorers gave majestic names, such as Emerald Pools and Angels Landing, to individual sites of the park.
