Grimsel Pass and Räterichsbodensee (Switzerland) online puzzle
The Grimsel Pass is located in the Bernese Alps at a height of 2,165 meters above sea level. It is the highest mountain pass in Switzerland connecting the valley of the river Aare and the valley of the river Rhone. Apart from hairpin bends there are glacial lakes in the area. The road from Gletsch to Meiringen gives tourists a chance to admire Räterichsbodensee – a huge retention reservoir – that powers the nearby hydro power stations. The lake belongs to the system of dams on the river Aare and its light blue surface contrasts beautifully with the background of green area.
