Yuyuan Garden is such a place in Shanghai as it was founded in the 16th century. This carefully cherished park gained its contemporary appearance after a major renovation in the 1950s and now it occupies the area of two hectares. In addition to an impressive collection of plants, stones of fabulous shapes and ponds, the park boasts bridges, fountains, benches, pavilions and sculptures.
