Pigeon lighthouse is located at the coast of the Pacific Ocean near the town of Pescadero in California. The construction was erected in 1871, a few year after the ship Carrier Pigeon sank there (hence the name of the lighthouse). The lighthouse was in operation for over 100 years, now it does not work, but is made accessible for visiting. The building itself is really beautiful: the tower is 35 m high, has a characteristic white color and viewing balconies. The lighthouse attracts many tourists, especially due to the fact that the hostel has been arranged inside.
