Steep Beacon Hill street in Boston (USA) online puzzle
Beacon Hill is one of the historic districts of Boston, the city located on the east coast of the United States. Its name comes from the highest hill in the center of Boston, where a lighthouse stood in the past. Today visitors may admire old buildings on its slopes that remind about the history of the city. The district experienced the biggest growth in the early nineteenth century, when the wealthiest residents of Boston began to settle there. They built beautiful, brick villas and stylish terraced houses. However, at the end of the nineteenth century Boston's upper class moved to other parts of the city and Beacon Hill was settled by immigrants from Ireland and the Jews. The district began to decline and its former glory was restored only in the second half of the twentieth century.
