Bogota is the capital of Colombia, a country located in north-west of South America. The city lies in the northern Andes, at the foot of Monserrate and Guadalupe peaks. The oldest part of the city is the district of La Candelaria with many architectural monuments representing the colonial style. The most important buildings of the capital are located around squares covered with stone slabs, which are crowded with tourists. The neoclassical cathedral known as La Catedral Primada de Colombia is also the landmark of Bogota.
