Church in Stolberg (Germany) online puzzle
Stolberg is a town located in North Rhine-Westphalia in the west of Germany, near the border with France. Its history dates back to the early Middle Ages, but the rapid development of the settlement had its peak in the 16th century. During the Reformation period, the town was famous for its tolerance, although it remained Catholic, providing shelter for many Protestants fleeing persecution, they could live and work here. Brass producers settled here, among others. Thanks to them, the town quickly became the dominant center of this alloy production in the region. Until today, both the Catholic and evangelical traditions of the town are visible in the landscape – alongside beautiful medieval brick churches, there are half-timbered residences of Protestant townsmen.
