The Pont du Gard is a part of Roman aqueduct in the South of France. The construction is 49 meters high and 3 to 6 meters thick. It was built around the year 19 BC by Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa. Pont du Gard means "Bridge of the Gard River". From the Middle Ages the aqueduct was used as a conventional bridge.
