Stolberg is a picturesque town located in North Rhine-Westphalia in the west of Germany. It was founded in the early Middle Ages, the time of its greatest prosperity falls on the 16th century. A large part of the town’s historical architecture comes from this period – burgher houses erected from brick and the timber-framed walls, a wooden structure filled with stone or clay. The characteristic buildings of the town are erected along the winding cobbled streets creating unique atmosphere. Stolberg is even more charming due to its the location at the bottom of the valley among gentle hills covered with forests.
