The Gardens of Versailles (France) online puzzle
The Baroque palace of Versailles was built in the seventeenth century and it was a symbol of French absolute monarchy for years, however, now it is the landmark of France and its most popular – after the Eiffel Tower – tourist attraction visited by 10 million people a year. The classical architecture of the palace is complemented by the adjoining garden, covering the area of 250 acres. It was designed with mathematical precision by André Le Nôtre who adhered to the principles of symmetry. A well thought-out layout, beautiful scenery and extraordinary precision of the palace gardeners resulted in an extremely elegant and refined park. The garden of Versailles became the prototype of all the gardens in the French style, i.e. those that are designed in a geometrical form.
