Street in Monterubbiano (Italy) online puzzle
Monterubbiano is located in the east of Italy. It is a very old town as it has existed since the Roman times, it was founded in the 3th century BC, however, the oldest traces of settlement in the town date back to the 9th century BC. Characteristic brick architecture of the town dates back to the Middle Ages, when it enjoyed autonomy within the urban commune. It meant that Monterubbiano had no formal superior, it had its own laws and was self-sufficient integrity. Due to the fact that the town was in fact autonomous, it had to protect itself against enemies. For that reason it was surrounded by a fortified wall and the buildings were made with non-combustible materials. Today the town is not endangered by incursions nor by fires and its medieval architecture and narrow streets create unique atmosphere.
