Piazza della Repubblica in Florence (Italy) online puzzle
Florence, the capital of Tuscany, is located in central Italy. In the 1880s the representative square called Piazza della Repubblica was created in the very center of the city. In the Roman times there used to be the forum, and then the city’s Jewish ghetto and the old market. The Column of Abundance (Italian: Colonna dell’Abbondanza) has been the square’s symbol since the 15th century. The square is the place where tourists may see many artists and street performers. It is worth noticing the buildings surrounding the Piazza della Repubblica, e.g. the Palazzo delle Poste (The post office building). There are also fashionable cafes, confectioneries and eateries as well as the five-star Savoy Hotel.
