Vineyard in Lavaux (Switzerland) online puzzle
The region of Lavaux stretches along the banks of Lake Geneva in the Swiss canton of Vaud. Vines have been cultivated in these areas for centuries as the local hills are uniquely sunlit. Wine was initially produced in Lavaux by the Romans and later mainly by Cistercian monks. On the steep slopes there are special terraces that are planted with vines. Near the small plots we can encounter small local wineries, stone cellars, houses and outbuildings. Today vineyards located in Lavaux cover the area of 840 hectares.
