Young seal in Kandalaksha Gulf (Russia) online puzzle
The Kandalaksha Gulf is located in Russia, forming the western part of the White Sea. Harp seals visit the gulf in order to give birth to their pups. Seal pups weigh about 9 kilograms. Initially they have a white fluffy fur, but over time they molt and their new coat is shorter, darker and adorned with cute dots. Young animals feed on crustaceans and fish, but before that they are fed by their mother. In the spring there are even special diving trips where tourists can swim with young seals in their natural habitat before they set off for the Barents Sea.
