Glendalough is a name derived from the Irish language and translates to the "Valley of Two Lakes". It is a popular tourist area, rich in monuments of medieval architecture and unspoiled nature. The valley owes its name to of the two lakes, picturesquely situated among the peaks of the Wicklow mountains in the west of Ireland. There are several marked tourist trails around lakes and along the valley, which have a various level of difficulty.
