Floristry is an art of beautiful flowers' arrangement that has been known since the ancient times. Compositions made of plants are most often used as gifts and decorations of houses. They accompany people in the most important moments of their lives – they are also an indispensable element of wedding decorations, they are present at funerals as well. The Japanese floristic art called ikebana is known all over the world (this name can be translated as "living flowers"). The use of all plants elements and decorations in an equal way is a special feature of the ikebana; it is meant not only to emphasize the beauty of a flower itself, but also of leaves, a stem or twigs, as well as that of a vase in which they are arranged. The whole arrangement is based on the three main points: symbols of the sky, earth and humanity.
