Daisies belong to the family of the Asteraceae. There are several species of daisies which occur mainly in Europe. Their inflorescence is made up of elongated, white or white-pink petals, symmetrically surrounding a yellow tubular center. Daisies grow wild in the neighborhood of grass - by the roads and meadows, however, they are also known as an ornamental plant, grown in gardens or pots. Flowers of daisies are used in medicine, they are used for preparing syrup for colds. According to some people, leaves that grow close to the ground and buds that are harvested in early spring are a valuable delicacy. Flowers and roots are also considered to be the edible parts of daisies.
