The Krka National Park is located along the middle-lower course of the river and it is one of the eight national parks in Croatia. The park was founded in 1985 in order to protect the unique ecosystem of the river. Apart from scientific and educational activities the park also provides services for tourists offering water transport and tourist infrastructure. Due to beautiful landscapes, monumental waterfalls and water cascades the park has become a popular tourist destination. Numerous groups come every year in order to admire the beauty of nature and spend time in a friendly atmosphere. The park is undoubtedly attractive for the fact that one may experience a direct contact with nature as well as the possibility of swimming legally in the Krka river, which is forbidden in majority of national parks, not only in Croatia but all over the world.
