Manhattan is the smallest but most densely populated boroughs of New York. The whole borough is located on the island of the same name and the Midtown is its most famous part – it is the very center of Manhattan. It is here that the most famous buildings of the USA are situated, including the Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building and the world-famous places such as the Broadway theater area, Times Square and Rockefeller Center. The name and nature of this district are the source of the term "Manhattanization", which is commonly used to determine the tendency to build skyscrapers in the city centers. The Midtown with its skyscrapers and busy streets make New York recognizable not only in the USA, but all over the world.
