Rotterdam Centre (Holland) online puzzle
Rotterdam is the city in western Holland (in the province called South Holland), which is the part of Randstad (the sixth largest metropolis in Europe), inhabited by 6.7 million people. It is located in the delta of the Rhine and Meuse Rivers. The city is known for the largest port in Europe (40 km long) and the Feyenoord football club. The centre of Rotterdam was completely destroyed during the World War II as a result of the Luftwaffe carpet bombing; not many of its numerous monument survived the bombing, among others the gothic church of St. Lawrence. The present city buildings come from the second half of the 20th century.
