Vienna is a large Austrian city located on the Danube. Franz-von-Assisi-Kirche, i.e. the church of St. Francis of Assisi is one of the most recognizable buildings in Vienna, it is located in the south-eastern part of the Mexikoplatz. The fiftieth anniversary of the reign of Emperor Franz Josef I was the impulse to build the temple. The church was being erected for over a dozen years and in 1913 it was consecrated. The eight-sided chapel of Elisabeth adjoins the main building that resembles a castle from a fairy tale.
