Castle in Lednice (Czech Republic) online puzzle
Lednice is a small town located in Moravia in the south of the Czech Republic, near the border with Austria and Slovakia. The town is famous for its park and palace complex that is the most popular complex of that type in Moravia. The castle in Lednice was mentioned in the sources for the first time in the 13th century. The fortress was passed into the hands of the House of Lichtenstein by margrave Przemysł. The House of the Lichtenstein possessed it until the confiscation in 1945. The Moravian magnates paid great attention to fashions and for that reason the estate was redeveloped many times. Its present look is owed to the last redevelopment in the 19th century when the edifice obtained a romantic, Neo-Gothic shape. The surrounding park was also created at the time of the last redevelopment and is now considered to be one of the largest in Europe.
