Telč is a Czech town located in the southern part of Moravia. It is located at the crossroads of trade routes and received town privileges in the 13th century. The origins of the town are closely related to Moravian prince Otto II. The castle located in Telč was once the residence of Zachariáš of Hradec. The old town full of colorful, Renaissance and Baroque tenement houses with characteristic arcades and historic churches, is surrounded by large ponds. The square is decorated with a plague column with a statue of the Virgin Mary and two fountains.
