The town of Cordes-sur-Ciel is located in the French region of Midi-Pyrénées in the south of the country. The settlement in this place was founded by the Count of Toulouse, Raimon VII in 1222. The name of the town located on a high hill can be translated as "rocky heights", which of course refers to the unusual location of this medieval town. Tourists visiting Cordes-sur-Ciel are attracted not only with historic buildings, narrow and steep upward streets, but also restaurants offering regional specialties and the Museum of Sugar and Chocolate.
