Füssen is a German town located in Bavaria in the south of the country. This picturesque town is famous for its many monuments, among which the Basilica of St. Magnus stands out. This characteristic building with white walls and a roof covered with red bricks is located on the bank of the Lech River. Formerly there was a Benedictine abbey, they came to Füssen in the 9th century. According to the legend, the monastery was founded by St. Magnus, who built a hermitage here, where he lived an ascetic life. Currently, the former abbey houses a church raised to the status of a basilica and a town museum presenting the history of the monastery and the town. You can also admire the baroque interior.
