Baroque architecture of Dresden (Germany) online puzzle
Dresden is widely regarded as the most beautiful city in Germany. It is sometimes called the pearl of Baroque and Florence of the North, because its historical center was built in one architectural style. King August II decided on this, he had considerable sums from the sale of Saxon porcelain and decided to redesign the city in accordance with the fashion prevailing at the time of his reign. Dresden survived many wars, however, in 1945 it was bombed by the Allied troops and completely destroyed. Only one part of historical development survived, however, after the end of the conflict the city was rebuilt. Original bricks and architectural elements extracted from debris were used for this purpose.
