Canals in Strasbourg (France) online puzzle
Strasbourg's history dates back to ancient times when the Romans established a stronghold in this place, it was meant to protect an important crossroads of large trade routes existing here. The Romans named it Strateburgum, i.e. "watchtower on the road." This name has survived to our day in a shortened form. Over the centuries Strasbourg changed hands between the Germans and French, which is reflected in the culture of this city. On the one hand we may find here half-timbered buildings typical of Germany, on the other hand there are red sandstone houses built by the French. However, all these buildings create a coherent and extremely charming whole. The local cuisine, which combines the French and German flavors, is one of the best in the world – the two local restaurants were on a list of Michelin.
