Nuremberg is a large German city in the German Federal State of Bavaria, located on the river Pegnitz. The city is dominated by the Imperial Castle (German: Kaiserburg) built on a rock, whereas the Old Town buildings are dominated by the soaring towers of temples. The Romanesque-Gothic Church of St. Sebaldus with two pointy towers, the 14th-century Roman Catholic Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Lutheran Church of St. Lawrence, the construction of which lasted for two centuries, are particularly noteworthy. Albrecht Dürer’s House, the Renaissance city hall and the Palace of Justice are also worth seeing.
