The town of Český Krumlov is located on the both banks of the meandering Vltava River in the southern part of the Czech Republic. The 13th-century castle built on a steep rock is its most valuable historic monument. This is a huge complex of buildings connected by as many as five courtyards, which include the castle tower dominating the skyline of the town, numerous renaissance buildings, theater, cascading fountain, ballroom, baroque garden and the three-storey Plášťový Bridge. Český Krumlov Castle is the second largest complex of fortified buildings in the Czech Republic.
