Astana is a city of unusual. It lies in the north of Kazakhstan and has been the capital of the country since 1997. The rapid growth of the city took place in the 1990s, when after the declaration of Kazakhstan's independence, it was decided to move the capital there. Astana is known for its futuristic architecture - the city was built virtually from scratch, destroying the remnants of the Soviet domination. The seat of the Ministry of Natural Resources, which is located in the main avenue of the city, is one of the most important buildings of the city. Extraction of oil and natural gas is the basis for the country's economy, therefore, it is not surprising that the seat of the ministry that deals with that branch of economy looks like a modern palace.
