Canal in Bruges (Belgium) online puzzle
Belgium is the country located in the south of the region known as the Low Countries. Bruges, sometimes referred to as "The Venice of the North”, is one of the best known cities in Belgium. There is not only the port but also the system of canals, which are located in the historic part of the city. The construction of canals began as early as in the 12th century, when Bruges was granted the city charter. A storm created a natural channel called the Zwin and thanks to that natural phenomenon Bruges became a place where trade flourished. Medieval buildings of the city as well as the system of canals are the two showcases of this beautiful place in Belgium.
