Recco is a small town located in the Italian region of Liguria. Water polo is a popular sport here and the club representing Recco has existed since 1913. The Ligurian Riviera was heavily bombed during the World War II, which had a significant influence on the architecture of the town. At present there are a few characteristic structures in the town – a railway arch bridge and St. John the Baptist and John the Good Church (Italian: Chiesa dei Santi Giovanni Battista e Giovanni Bono) with a 55-meter belfry. The tower is the symbol of Recco – it is situated towards the end of a long pier, it can be also seen in the town’s crest. Recco is located on the sea and there are also beaches and the harbor. Numerous tourists visiting the town may rent a summerhouse, a suite or just stay in one of the hotels.
