The English village of Castle Combe is known for its picturesque medieval housing. The village thrived in 10th century and the architecture of the market, church and beautiful stone houses comes from that period. The inhabitants of the village are aware of its picturesqueness and they take care of its unique atmosphere. They do not spoil the landscape by advertisements of satellite dishes. The qualities of Castle Combe are even more attractive due to its geographical location – the range of lime hills called Costwold is situated nearby. The region is also famous for archeological finds from the megalith period.
