One of the world’s most beautiful beaches is located close to the Portuguese town of Lagos in the south of the country on the Atlantic coast. Ponta da Piedade Beach is known around the world for its unique charm, thanks to which it is one of the biggest tourist attractions not only in Portugal, but across Europe. Its location among cliff formations, protruding above the surface of the crystal waters of the ocean, is a distinctive feature of the beach. The height of some rocks reaches up to 20 meters and small sandy beaches are located between them. Ponta da Piedade is one of them. Unfortunately, this place is difficult to get – it is easiest to get here by boat, however, the braver ones may use a road and go down the steep steps carved in the rock.
