Bavaria is one of the German federal states. In this region there are many clean lakes, surrounded by forests, from which tourists can admire the mountain peaks of Karwendel that are laced through with a fog. Barmsee is a charming 55-hectare lake near the village of Krün in Upper Bavaria, situated at the height of 885 meters. It was created on peat bogs and its surroundings are an ideal place for walks and picnics. In summer tourists may swim in the lake or enjoy a boat ride on its surface – the water in the lake is quite warm for a long time.
