Murchison Falls (Uganda) online puzzle
Murchison Falls is located on the Victoria Nile, the river that flows through northern Uganda. The waterfall, which is 120 meters high, was discovered in 1864 by Samuel Baker, a British traveler and explorer, who undertook the expedition to find the source of the Nile. The name of the waterfall commemorates Roderick Murchison – the director-general of the British Geological Survey and the Museum of Practical Geology in London. During the 1970s president Idi Amin changed its name in honor of the Ugandan ruler Kabarega, who reigned in the late 19th century. However, it has never been announced officially and the name Kabarega Falls is rarely used.
