Horses were domesticated about 3500 years B.C., probably on the area of present-day Kazakhstan. Horse breeds are divided into hot-blooded and cold-blooded. The former are of slimmer build, adapted to working in a fast pace and to life in a warm climate. The cold-blooded ones have a characteristic massive build, are much calmer and are adapted to hard work in cold weather conditions.
