The most important are the remnants of the architecture of antic Rome (the Coliseum, the Forum Romanum, the Circus Maximus, ruins of temples) and monuments of Christian architecture (St. Peter’s Basilica, St. John’s Basilica and others). The panorama of the centre of Rome, unusual because of these two reasons (enormous number of monuments and their equally enormous variety), makes the city so amazing that it is visited by millions of tourists every year.
