Snow-covered Bern (Switzerland) online puzzle
Bern lies at the two sides of the river Aare. The name of this Swiss city comes probably from the word "bear", an animal that is also found in the coat of arms of Bern. The old town has preserved its medieval architecture, it is also decorated by eleven 16th-century fountains. Among Bern’s landmarks there are also 6-kilometer arcades. The city is dominated by the cathedral (German: Berner Münster), which was erected and rebuilt from the 15th to the late 19th century. The clock tower stands in Kramgrasse Street (German: Zeitglockenturm). It was built in 1530 and is the remainder of the former city gate.
