Wall of the town hall in Wernigerode (Germany) online puzzle
The Town Hall in Wernigerode, a German town located in the central part of the country, like many historic buildings in this town was built in the 15th century with the use of timber framing method. Half-timbered walls are created as a result of filling wooden construction with bricks. The beams were usually impregnated with tar, which dyed them black, while the filling was plastered and painted with bright paints, giving the buildings a characteristic look. Half-timbered constructions were popular mainly in Northern Europe - in Germany, France, the Benelux countries and Scandinavia. In Poland, this technique is called the Prussian wall due to the fact that it was brought to Polish territories from Prussia.
