Kuala Lumpur is the largest city and capital of Malaysia. Among the symbols of Kuala Lumpur there are, among others, 452-meter Petronas Towers, 421-meter television tower Menara Kuala Lumpur and numerous shopping centers. Although the panorama of this rapidly growing city is dominated by skyscrapers, Kuala Lumpur skillfully combines tradition with modernity. One of the biggest tourist attractions in the area is Sri Mahamariamman, the Hindu temple founded in 1873. The entrance to the temple complex is marked by a five-tiered gopuram, a monumental gate tower. The fabulously colorful structure is decorated with hundreds of figures of Hindu deities.
